New Jersey Mediation Services at Kaufman, Semeraro & Leibman, LLP

Mediation is a voluntary process where a trained neutral third party – the mediator – facilitates negotiations among the parties to help them reach a mutually acceptable settlement.

Our mediation practice group consists of attorneys who are Court Rule 1:40 Qualified Mediators, handling both court referred and private mediation matters.

The purpose of mediation is not to decide who is right or wrong. Rather, the goal is to give the parties the opportunity to (1) be heard (2) clear up misunderstandings, (3) determine underlying interests or concerns, (4) find areas of agreement, and, ultimately, (4) leverage areas of agreement into a solution that works for both parties. Oftentimes settlements reached through mediation are more creative and the result of thinking “outside the box”, than settlements achieved in a court of law.

Because of our extensive litigation experience, our attorney mediators understand the importance of resolving matters without the financial and emotional cost of a trial. We pride ourselves on reaching solutions which are unique and customized to the needs of each individual party.

We provide mediation services for various disputes, including employment, contract, partnership disputes and general business litigation.

As attorney mediators, we not only negotiate favorable settlements, but are available to negotiate and draft all settlement documents as well.
